Get Ready to Unleash the Beast: BMW M1000 XR, the 200bhp Hyper Adventure Bike!
Rev up your engines and fasten your seatbelts because 2024 is officially the year of 'adventure hypersports,' and BMW's M1000 XR is leading the charge alongside Ducati's Multistrada V4 RS. This superbike is about to redefine what adventure means, and it's not here to play nice.
Buckle up as we delve into the thrilling world of the BMW M1000 XR, a beast that's set to steal the show with its remarkable features and blistering 201bhp power, thanks to the legendary S1000RR engine. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. This two-wheeled marvel comes equipped with aerodynamic winglets, a high-tilted Akrapovic slip-on exhaust, a sleeker rear end, and more. It's not just a rival to its peers; it's aiming to set a new benchmark in the adventure sports class.
The M1000 XR is the latest addition to BMW Motorrad's 'M' family, following in the tire tracks of the M1000 RR and M1000 R super naked bikes. BMW introduced this 'M' designation, previously reserved for their performance cars, to their motorcycle lineup in 2018, and it's been nothing short of spectacular.
Dominik Blass, the Product Manager for the M1000 XR, sums it up perfectly, "The M1000 XR – M XR for short – has been tuned to meet the specific requirements of a long-distance sports bike. The riding dynamics speak for themselves, both on the country roads as well as on the racetrack and on long-distance journeys."
Under the hood, or should we say, under the fairings, lies an enhanced 999cc four-cylinder engine derived from the S1000RR but with a twist. It cranks out a jaw-dropping 201bhp at 12,750rpm, a solid 31bhp more than the revised 2024 S1000XR. Torque lovers, fear not, as it delivers a whopping 83.3lb ft at 11,000 rpm. But the real kicker is the revised gearing. The M1000 XR boasts a shorter secondary gear ratio and snappy 4th, 5th, and 6th gear ratios, all engineered to enhance traction, acceleration, and pulling power.
Hold on tight, because there's more. The M1000 XR flaunts MotoGP-style winglets on the front side panels, designed to boost stability at breakneck speeds. These winglets come to life around 62.5mph, delivering an aerodynamic downforce that provides a heart-pounding 12kg of extra load on the front wheel at 137.5mph.
And that's not all! This powerhouse comes with a treasure trove of 'M' performance parts, with the option to add even more to your adrenaline arsenal. The 'M' brakes, with their striking blue anodized calipers and ultra-thin 5mm discs, are a standout feature, operated by a cutting-edge radial master cylinder. If you crave even more finesse, the M Competition package offers carbon wheels and a host of carbon components that shed a cool 3kg off the weight, turning this beast into a lean, mean adventure machine.
The M1000 XR doesn't stop there. It sports sportier, flatter handlebars adorned with laser-etched 'BMW M XR' lettering, an adjustable steering damper, and optional sporty bar-end mirrors. The M Competition package takes things up a notch with carbon wheels, a carbon rear wheel cover, side panels, front wheel cover, inner cover, and ignition/steering lock cover, all contributing to a lighter and more agile ride. Fully adjustable footrests are the icing on the cake.
While most of the M XR shares similarities with the 2024 S1000XR, it boasts its own unique persona that's bound to make heads turn. The base M XR comes in a stunning white finish and starts at just £22,580, making it nearly £10,000 more affordable than its rival, the Multistrada V4 RS. The M Competition package version is an eye-catching black metallic with striking red and blue accents, and availability details are yet to be announced.
In the world of adventure hypersports, the BMW M1000 XR is the new king, ready to conquer the open road and the racetrack. With its awe-inspiring power, aerodynamic enhancements, and 'M' performance pedigree, it's a force to be reckoned with. So, if you're ready to elevate your riding experience, hop on and let the adventure begin. The M1000 XR is calling your name!
Cool !!!!!!!!
